Money’s Worth
by J.D. Grace
It had never occurred to me before the past months that there was a reason that the price of everything kept going up. I just thought that was the way it was and we just had to deal with it. It wasn’t until a good friend sat me down and explained to me that our money was becoming less valuable with every passing day that I began to understand. This is why the price of everything kept rising, to keep up with our flailing dollar.
We’re hearing a lot about the debt ceiling crisis now. Now, after all this time it’s a big problem and people are becoming aware. Still trying to wrap my mind around how such a gigantic subject could be unrealized by all us average Americans while all the signs were there I remembered this scene from Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
When Dr. Evil awakens after 30 years of being frozen he is unaware that while 1 Million dollars was a big to do in 1967, by 1997 it would be a laughable amount to request for the return of a Kerplakistani warhead. All jokes aside, it’s time for Americans to rub the crusties out of their eyes and take a good look at why and how this was able to happen. Time to start doing research into The Federal Reserve.
